NIFT, which is a premier institute in India from late 1980’s has its campus in Chennai near Taramani from 1995 onwards. They cater mainly to Apparel & Clothing, Knitwear and footwear industries and shaping the fashion in these fields.

Apart from Chennai, they have centres at New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Bhopal, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kannur, Kolkatta, Patna, Rae Bareli & Shillong.
