This years edition of the Chennai Open tennis was a roaring success. With an Indian in the Final for the 1st time in 13 years and the crowd went bersek.
The State Governement’s support for the promised 5 years got over for this prestigious ATP tour in India is over as of this edition. Now the Million dollar / rupee question on the future of this tourney hangs. Lets hope the governement steps again. If you recll this was called Gold Flake open, then Tata open and later Chennai Open as the sponsors changed.
I hope the CM is “Open” for extending this Chennai “Open” so that it is not closed in the future and “Open” for all participants and enthusiasts.
