Many parts of the seashore in Chennai is eroding fast. Take the cases of Tiruvotriyur, Ennore, Mahabalipuram road etc. the sea is fast advancing and eating the land.
One such example here is of the shores before Mahabalipuram and the lose of land.

If the sea is advancing at some places, it must also be receding at some places.
Probably post Tsunami the erosion is more near Mamallapuram (that is the correct name and not Mahabalipuram).
