This seems to be Lady Wellington Hostel name board, mangled near the compound.

Am I right?

Adding to my previous comment, it is Lady Wellington Girls Hostel near Vivekananda House and the tamil name is வெலிங்டன் சீமாட்டி பெண்கள் விடுதி.

சரியா? Am I right?

It also appears now as some செவிலியர் விடுதி . If that is the case, then this must be in Egmore area.
