The Country Medicine shop (Naatu Marundhu Kadai – நாட்டு மருந்து கடை ) are quite old and legacied in a locality (especially the old ones of Chennai). They come in quite handy for various DIY medicines, herbs, warding evils, mostly the ones which are aimed to cure simple maladies. Easily identifiable as your granny’s medicines.

“Dabba Chetty Kadai” in Kutchery Road is almost 100 years old. These Naattu Marundhu Kadai’s are very popular in Triplicane and Mylapore.
