Shri Adhi Shankarar is one of the main saints and philosophers in India and Hinduism. His teaching “Advaitha” along with Shri Ramanujar’s “Vashistadvaitha” & Shri Madhwa’s “Dvaitham” is an essential to read and critical for reviving Hinduism in those years.

His Sannadhi is present in Tirusulanathar temple in Tirisulam. This is the idol in the gopuram of the shrine.
