Some years ago, strikes, Lock-outs were quite common among factories, government servants et al. But though the unions continue to exist but the incidences of these strikes are rare in occurrence.

Why so? is it because of the competitive environment nowadays or is the basic amenities requested by the unions met already or what are the reasons?
