The College of Fine Arts came into the picture, after the Chennai City Corporation was unable to zero in on designers and craftsmen to instal sculptures of performing arts. The sculptures, up to 8 ft high, are made of fibre glass. Sculptures of silambattam, karakattam, poikkal kudirai, kalari and marapacchi were installed near Loyola College, Valluvar Kottam, College Road, Cathedral Road and Tirumalai Road at Rs 17.32 crore in 2008.
