Samikannu Vincent started it as Touring Talkies & then the Permanent Cinema Hall called “Variety Hall” at Coimbatore. His birthday is now celebrated as “Cinema Halls Day” in South India.

In commemoration this blog features one of the Best Halls in Chennai “Casino”, now renovated, built in 1941. Its situated in Dams Road, Off Anna Salai (Mount Road). Built by the Parsi family of Irani’s.
