Spencer Plaza, was the only Mall for a very long time in Chennai. Though Alsa Mall & Cisons were there, but were just clones of a larger Mall. Then came Ispahani Centre at Nungambakkam & Citi Centre at RK Salai.
The new entrants soon are going to be Express Avenue at Pattulos Road, Indi Mall at NM Road & Ampa Mall again at NM Road – PH road junction.
Seen here is the busy activity at the Express Avenue construction site.
but u know somehow shopping at these never has an impact as good as shopping at road side stalls at mylapore or pondy bazzar…the colour…the bargaining…its theraputic…
Not fair!
You’ve forgotten the original – Fountain Plaza on Pantheon Road. Tiny, crowded shops matching PB and you could also have the chaats and gaming at Jimmy’s… ah! Thanks for giving me another post idea, Ram!!
Cheers,
Shantaram
thats true,
FP was our very one gr8 mall for people above 35 yrs. cos we did not have any other mall then…cant forget the days when we would go around bargaining more but buying less….
