Ganesh Chathurthi (aka Vinayaga Chathurthi) is an auspicious day to celebrate the elephant god of Lord Ganesha. Large Ganesha idols are made and kept at public places by many devotees. These attract a lot of visitors to its Pandals (shelter) during that week.
One such Ganesha idol is getting readied for this Chathurthi, thats falling on Sep’11th this year. These idols are being made near Kosapet, and this one is made with the "Channa Dhal" as the primary design.
Its that time of the year! May this Ganesha Chaturthi be cleaner, greener and happy as always! 🙂
Namaskara! What an interesting post about Lord Ganesha! I have a big wood carving of Ganesha in my office which I bought during my 4 weeks in Bangalore!
