  1. Interesting.

    So many street names got modified dropping the “perceived” caste suffixes. Even in Triplicane, one of the few lengthy streets by name “Venkatrangam Pillai Street” became Venkatrangam Street.

    May be this Pitch(u) is on a different wicket!

  2. Very different name …. Chennai has many weirdly named streets..Recently I came across a street’s name : “Kolaikaran Street”(literally translated to “Murderer’s Street” !) in the newspaper..

    Ram: Yes V, more such weird names to come here .. watch out. Also, the area in Royapettah is called Kolaikkaranpettai
