Taj Connemera is re-christened Vivanta by Taj, due to their global repositioning of various properties as Business, Luxury etc. At Binny Road, Egmore.

That is news.. even today there was some ad in the radio.. mentioning Taj Connemara… !
The name Connemara was a link to the British Raj and a salacious story. Lady Connemara ditched her husband Lord Connemara when she found him in bed with a native girl and moved to the only hotel in town which stood at what is Taj Connemara / Vivanta now. Only quirk was that this hotel was completely occupied by bachelor English officers. Lord Connemara accused her of having an affair with his doctor, which the Lady refuted.
