Pazhaverkadu also known as Pulicat Lake is about 50+ kms close to chennai. The right turn after reaching Ponneri Junction on the Kolkatta Highway.

This is a seamouth and an amazing water locale. Places to see are a Dutch cemetry, Light house and a bird sanctuary. This confluence of backwaters has a lovely catamaran ride also in store for the visitors.
