The Statue of the 18th Century Chieftain Dheeran Chinnamalai who ailed from Erode, could be seen near Guindy Industrial Estate in the Anna Salai (Aka Mount Road). There used to be a Dheeran Chinnamalai Transport Corporation earlier, when the state run buses of different areas were named after popular leaders / kings from that region.
