My limited research says, this law weekly which was founded in 1914 was founded by V C Seshachariar, an active legal practitioner and a patron of music & art. This along with the other 3 houses in the same row of North Mada street was a precursor for all Sabhas for performing arts. The concerts used to take place in this row of houses and almost all eminent musicians have performed here. They also house the Madras Law Journal, now.
But correct me if i’m wrong about this fact, because somewhere i also read V C Seshachariar lived in North Mada street & this weekly is in South Mada street.
