Whannels Road, soon the same might or might not be history. The State Governement & Chennai City corporation was of the opinion to change all English Names to Tamil ones, irrespective of the reasons why a street / road was named after them. If they get their way then this might be a history, else it’d remain as Whannels Road.

I think if the name has any good history then it will remain the same…
