…. an early morning stunt by these kids in front of the Periamet Mosque. The Bullock cart, the Riding Kid, the attentive Canine and the sleepy kids are enroute somewhere ….

Another area with fond memories – I remember taking the bus from Broadway to eat at the Delhi Durbar restaurant which was at the intersection of Poonamallee High Road and the road leading into Periamet (I forget the name – age gets you!) from time to time. two other “Durbar” hotels that were also favorites in those days were the one at Broadway across from Loansquare Park and one at Mount Road across the road from the Childrens’ Theater which was renamed Kalaivanar Arangam – not sure if any of these old restaurants still exist . . .
Ram : Sydenhams Road (aka Raja Muthaiah Road as its called now) is the road that leads to the Mosque. Kalaivanar arangam (oh was it called the Childrens’ Theater!! Good to knw)was knocked for the Now Defunct New Secretariat.
