The Ganesh Chathurthi or Vinayaka Sathurthi is a festival for the elephant god in Hinduism.

In my home this day starts with my son urging my father to go shopping for the clay Ganesha and the paper umbrella for the god. This is then given the right decorations at the pooja room and then the pooja performed for the god and the delicacies like “kozhukattai” (aka Modhak), Sundal etc are made for the god and consumed by us 🙂
